Solange Charas, Ph.D., is a public company board director, governance expert, and Professor of Professional Practice at Columbia University who specializes in helping organizations quantify the financial impact of their workforce and total rewards investments. She is Founder and CEO of HCMoneyball, where she has advised hundreds of organizations and supported more than 80 M&A transactions, translating human capital data into insights on performance, risk, and capital allocation.
With over 35 years of experience as a CHRO, senior advisor, and board leader, Solange brings a rare combination of HR, finance, and governance expertise. Her work focuses on applying HR and human capital metrics—including HCROI, productivity, and attrition economics—to demonstrate how people decisions drive profitability and enterprise value.
Solange is a Distinguished Principal Research Fellow at The Conference Board, a member of the ISO Human Capital TC-260 Committee shaping global workforce measurement standards, and a member of the WorldatWork Editorial Board. She is co-author of Humanizing Human Capital and a frequent keynote speaker known for delivering practical, hands-on frameworks that help HR and Total Rewards leaders build business cases that get funded.
She has a BA from UC Berkeley in International Economics, an MBA from Cornell in Accounting and Finance, and a PhD from Case Western in Corporate Governance.
